wk 8 Digi Choosday challenge...Inserts & Envelopes

Hi everyone, welcome to another Digi Choosday!
This week we don't have a winner to announce because we extended our deadlines for entering the challenges, so let's get straight on to this week's challenge! Big thanks to you all for entering our last challenge, it's great to see you all here on our new blog : ) and we appreciate your support x

Inserts and Envelopes

We all use inserts and love making envelopes so this week we challenged the team to try and do something different with them - either by making them into a mini book, using inserts as card fronts or really pushing the envelope and getting uber creative LOL (excuse the pun!)! The possibilities are endless!

You have until Tuesday 11th March at noon to enter this challenge and our random winner will get a free download bundle and our Top 3 will go in the cup to be selected as forthcoming guest designers with us!

So let's see what the team have to show us this week...
Zoe - So this week I chose to use an envelope on the front of my card to meet our challenge. I used papers, envelope & image from the Dollie Goes East collection.  The image 'Pray' can also be found in the download section. I coloured her with a mix of markers including the fabulous Graph It markers. I added the sentiment to the inside of the envelope to make it a feature.

Yvonne -  I decided to focus on the inserts and envelopes section from the Dollie Daydream Girl Talk collection. I picked this insert because I liked the fact that there were elements I could decoupage and also, the sentiment 'Wish' had me immediately thinking of a wish list for clothes!  I chose two of the digi stamps available within the collection, that of the evening gown and the mannequin. I coloured these with my Graph'It Markers. I couldn't resist glittering the bottom of the dress and then 'wish' was just shouting out for some glitter too, as was the white flower at the bottom that I decoupaged.  I also printed out an envelope from the collection in mini size and added this as an embellishment along with some velvet ribbon, dazzler and pearls from my stash.
Debbi - Must admit this weeks challenge theme, to use envelopes and/or inserts in a different way, got my head thinking and I was bouncing about with so many ideas. But I finally settled on making a box. I used an envelope from the Dollie Daydream - Girl Talk to make the box and the decoration was made using an insert from the same collection.
Anjie - The main part of the card is made using an insert from the beautiful Cherryblossom Lane CD Rom Collection which is on offer at the moment for only £9.98! What a bargain! For the image and embellishments I have used the instant download Decoupage Sheet - Riding Along (Cherryblossom Lane), which has made a lovely 3D topper.
Scatty Jan  I adore using the Cherryblossom Lane collection , it is probably one of my most used collections. I used an Insert for my card base and printed out a tiny envelope , fussy cut a few butterflies and popped on a sentiment - All were printed from the Cherryblossom Lane CD I then printed out Wesley also on the cd or available as a digi stamp - Coloured in with Graph'its and Promarkers xx

Susan  This weeks challenge gave me a chance to make a tag album ,I just love making these little books. I have used mini envelopes ,digis and embellishments all from Dollie Daydream goes East collection. For the image on the front cover I used my Graph'It markers
lots more pictures of the album on my blog...

Sally - Hello again, its Digi Choosday!  Today's challenge is to use inserts and envelopes.  I chose one of the envelopes from the Dollie Daydream CD Rom and an insert to match the colour of the envelope.  I printed the envelope and cut and scored it and then glued it.  It will fit a 4 x 6" card.
I then printed out the insert to a 4 x 6" size and then made a tag using a 4 x 6" piece of white cardstock, then cut some brown cardstock and embossed it with a dotty folder, and adhered it to the white tag.  I then matted and layered half of the insert with white and turquoise cardstock. Cut the other part of the insert to make a small tag and matted that on brown cardstock. Added a bow and printed off some flowers from the Build a flower section on the CD Rom and there you have it!
Jo- This week I wanted to make an envelope of sorts using only circles cut from Emma Canning animals and nature bundle backing papers. I diecut four circles, folded them in half and glued them together to form the envelope shape, then decorated the inside with a gorgeous sentiment that is part of this bundle, and sparkly gems and hearts.

What great projects - who knew you could do so much with a simple insert and envelope!
Don't forget you have until 11th March to enter and we will see you back here next Tuesday for a new challenge. Don't forget you also have time to enter the current Polkadoodles challenge in the sidebar too!

You have until Tues 4th March to enter this challenge and the winner will be announced on 11th March - lots of time to enter :D yay!!

You can see them here on the Polkadoodles blog. We don't have a winner to announce until next week as we've extended the challenge deadlines so make sure you also have your entries in for last week which will end soon!

So let's get to the Design Team's inspiration - a huge thankyou this week to our fabulous Guest Mirella who has made us another superb project this week which is her last week with us :C
Thankyou so much for joining in with the team Mirella, we have loved having you with us and you did an amazing job for us!
Don't forget, if you enter our challenges you could be asked to Guest Design for us too!

So let's see what the team made this week!....

Mirella....This week's theme is "Shaping up".  I made a shaped card and included small shapes inside the card (circle, rectangles) as layers. I used this amazing image called "Dollie Sleepyhead". The image includes Dollie, the sentiment and the little heart and pot as a whole image... but I decided to separate them and resize them to layer and suit my card.... It's such a versatile image!!! The papers are also from the Polkadoodles store.
Together with a few die cuts, washi tape and buttons... the pretty card is ready!!! happy how it ended up! Thank you so much Digi Choosday team for having me as a GDT these past two weeks!

Zoe - I thought I'd supersize an image and make it a shaped card to meet our challenge! I used this gorgeous 'Pray' image from Dollie goes East collection. I coloured her with a mix of markers including Graph It's  I also used the fabulous gold Glitter Shake pen  to colour over her top. The card is nearly A4 in length!
Scatty Jan - I love making tags , so this weeks challenge was ideal for me - I have used the wonderful digi - Dolly Daydream Birthday The pink stripy paper is from The Cherryblossom Lane CD - coloured with promarkers xx
Debbi -For this weeks challenge I have made a bendy card that also folds flat so you can pop it into a envelope. The lovely background, the patterned paper for the flowers and the tree are from the Hootie Tree collection. And Dollie Daydream is stood in her garden with a lovely bouquet of flowers. She is available from the Polkadoodles Digi Esty store. She was coloured with Promarkers.
Jo- I decided to attempt a fancy fold to make a shaped card for this challenge it's a diamond upright card, I've added a link to the measurements on my blog. I wanted to make a Valentine's card using the gorgeous Be Mine Emma Canning digi and papers and  flower embellishments from the Love Will Flourish collection.
Yvonne - Well, this weeks challenge was a challenge for me, myself and scissors are not on the best of terms, but I took the plunge! The backing paper I used is part of a digi bundle from Polkadoodles called Daisy Papers ! I printed the backing paper onto a cupcake card template I had. The image is Trendsetter and you can get her from Polkadoodles DigiWorld or the Etsy Shop, I coloured her with my Graph'It markers. I finished the card off with a ribbon, flowers and wooden embellishment from my stash.
Susan For the shaping up challenge I have used Girls hoot collection I absolutely love the vibrant papers in this collection ,the  Owl card is cut out on my cameo...
Sally - Hello folks.  Here is my "Shaping Up" Challenge Card.  I have chosen this lovely digi image from Dolly Daydream Goes East CD Rom and coloured her with my Graph'it markers. I then chose this lovely parasol which I printed out on A4 paper.  I then die cut the parasol using Spellbinder Grand Stately Circles which gave it a lovely lacey edge.  I then made a card using Grand Scalloped Circles, folded one in half for the base and the other to mat the parasol to.  I then printed out one of the scroll sentiments and die cut some butterflies to complete the card.
Wow! Amazing projects this week, as always! Don't forget to follow the rules for the challenge (you can see them in the sidebar) and we look forward to seeing you next week! x

So let's see what the team are giving us for inspiration this week!....

First up, we have our amazing Guest Designer Mirella joining in with this challenge...

Mirella....Hi! First of all I would like to thank the team for inviting me to Guest Design here at Polkadoodles Digi Choosday challenge. I'm really honoured!!! So this week's theme is "Fashion Fun". For me, being Fashion forward is dressing with whatever clothes I am comfortable with, wearing what it suits me and whatever I'm in the mood for! and rock it! that's why I chose "Dollie shop" to work with. She's fashionable but she is really confident wearing her clothes and has attitude!!!. The sentiment is one of my favourites, I love it and it summarises this week's theme for me. I used papers from the Polkadoodles store (the background pink) and from my stash.
Zoe - I had great fun this week, I admit I coloured many images that would work for this challenge but decided on this fun, fab and funky girl - she can be found in the Dollie Goes East collection but you can also find her here too if you just want the digis. I coloured her with a mix of markers including the fabulous Graph It's. I also used papers and sentiment from the collection which I'm finding to be so versatile.
Sally - It's Digi Choosday once again! Wow time flies!  Today's digi challenge is "Fashion Forward" so I picked this great digi image and coloured her with my Graph'it markers.  I chose some backing papers from the Dollie Daydream CD Rom. Matted them on black cardstock.  The sentiment is part of the image, so I made it separate and matted on some more black cardstock.
Scatty Jan here using the lovely Dollie Daydream - Glitz Digistamp  there really are some beauties in the store right now I think she is one of my fav's but then everytime I colour one up I change my mind :-). I have coloured with promarkers and mounted onto card - a little black soot distress ink added xx
Anjie - On my card this week the image is Dollie Daydream - Glitz Digistamp and is coloured with Graph'It Markers. You can also find the image in the new Etsy Store, where there are lots of lovely new images from Nikky Hall. The papers are from the Studio 12 CD-rom Picknix Collection 2 Gingerbread Twist which just goes to show Christmas CD's aren't just for Christmas! The sentiment is from the Dollie Daydream BONUS EDITION Girl Talk Collection. The rolled roses are using the same papers, and the ribbon, other flower and feathers are from my stash. The die cut shoe is the Tattered Lace die, High Heel Glam.
Debbi - Something a little different from me today and have made a giant doll tag. The background and also the dress and shoes were made using the 'Tail Feather collection'. The flowers where made using the Build a Fleur section of the 'Dollie Daydream - Girl Talk Collection'. For the 'skin' I used a "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" backing paper.

Yvonne - Hello there, I'm new and I am delighted to be here, so thank you for having me! I loved making this weeks challenge and couldn't have asked for a better theme. I used a digi stamp from Dollie Goes East collection or you can get her from the new Etsy Store where there are loads of gorgeous images to choose from! I coloured her with my Graph'It markers. The background papers are from Dollie Daydreams - Girl Talk Collection CD Rom which I printed onto Ivory Centura cardstock for a wee bit of shimmer. The sentiment is also from the Girl talk collection, which I coloured with Pan Pastel. The backing card, ribbon, charm and gems are from my stash and the die is a Signature Die from Joanna Sheen, Heart Bunting.
Jo- I have used the very fashionable Glitz digi for this challenge coloured with copics. I tried out a new technique for me, where I die cut around part of the image, I wanted it to look almost like she was walking out of the frame plus it shows off her fabulous hat :) There's more on the technique on my blog. I have also used a fab digi paper from the Love Will Flourish bundle.
Susan This week I made a door hanger using papers from Dollie Daydream now available as download and one of the Fredericka images, I used my Graph'it Markers to colour her .The flowers I dipped in my melt pot.

WoWSER!! Havent the team turned out some amazing projects this week!! STUNNING!
So come on everyone, get your craft on!
